Principal’s Message

Welcome to Galilee Catholic Primary School. At Galilee, we provide a rich and engaging learning environment where high academic standards are balanced with care for each child’s individual needs. Our goal is to nurture confident, capable learners who are inspired to achieve their personal best.

Our comprehensive curriculum includes Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Geography, History, Science and Technology, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, and the Creative Arts. Through these learning areas, students develop strong foundations in literacy and numeracy while also exploring their talents in art, music, dance and drama.

We are committed to fostering the growth of the whole child. Students are encouraged to participate in sporting programs and health initiatives that promote active, balanced lifestyles. Contemporary technologies are thoughtfully integrated across all subject areas, supporting innovative teaching and preparing students with the skills they need for the future.

Our dedicated teachers work collaboratively to deliver engaging, evidence-based learning experiences. Through purposeful teaching, targeted support, and enrichment opportunities, we ensure every student is challenged and supported to succeed.

Beyond the classroom, students can participate in a range of co-curricular activities, including choir, robotics, chess, creative arts and sporting opportunities, further enriching their school experience.

At Galilee, we are proud of our welcoming and inclusive community. We promote respect, empathy and positive relationships, creating a safe and supportive environment where every child feels valued.

Our school values of Compassion, Service, Stewardship and Excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

I look forward to partnering with you in your child’s educational journey at Galilee.

Mrs Helen Paton
Principal

01-galilee-bondi-our-historyHistory
Galilee Catholic Primary School Bondi was established in 2002 following the amalgamation of St Anne’s Primary School Bondi Beach and St Patrick’s Primary School Bondi.

Catholic education has a long history in Bondi. The Sisters of St Joseph opened St Anne’s Primary School Bondi Beach in 1894 and St Patrick’s Primary School in Wellington St Bondi in 1919. St Anne’s Primary School was then administered by the Sisters of Mercy from 1929 until 1991.

Charism
At Galilee, we continue to live out the Josephite and Mercy charisms of helping those in need. We are also inspired by the gospel stories of Jesus’ ministry around the shores of Lake Galilee. Jesus called the apostles to take up the challenge and follow Him. We too are called to follow Jesus with faith, hope, courage and generosity.

01-galilee-bondi-our-missionOur mission
Inspired by the Galilee Gospel stories where Jesus called others to join him in his mission; we at Galilee Catholic Primary School respond to this call and rise to the challenge by:

  • Celebrating our faith through understanding and valuing Catholic traditions
  • Developing lifelong skills through a contemporary learning environment that meets the needs of individual students
  • Building relationships with the school, parish and the wider community
  • Making a difference by respecting the environment, keeping our school safe and appreciating our individuality.

Our vision
Our vision is reflected in the school motto ‘Together We Rise to the Challenge’. Just like the first disciples we aim to be people filled with Faith, Hope, Courage and Generosity as we respond to God’s call.

02-galilee-bondi-our-parishAt Galilee Catholic Primary School Bondi we have a strong partnership with our parish. Every term, students and their families come together to celebrate family Mass at 5.00pm on Sunday. These special Masses often mark the feast day of a saint or special occasion within the church’s calendar.

Galilee includes the wider community in its day-to-day activities. The link between the school and Bondi Catholic Parishes is particularly strong.
